Virtual Reunion 2021
Our Virtual Reunion 2021 was a celebration of our classes of the ’60s thru the ’90s and our admittance to Grenada Boys Secondary School.
As part of our grand reunion, the GBSS Admin Team presented a Virtual Religious Service & Cultural Presentation that showcased a splendid performance of professionalism. Our opening salvo was indicative of what’s to come. We intend to be a global force for influencing new channels to better educational opportunities. Thus, positive social change to our homeland by empowering citizens to improve their socio economic position!
Invest in Yourself by Giving To Others
Giving to others implies investing in ourselves. It feels immensely pleasurable to pay it forward and help other members of the GBSS community to unlock their potential. Raising funds is a valuable human need. It gives a sense of belonging and accomplishing something bigger than ourselves. More importantly, many unforeseen/unintended stumbling blocks such as lack of morale, inefficient public sector services, (law enforcement, management and delivery of education, health personnel and resources) may be addressed.
Financial Aid to Support GBSS Students’ Life
Your financial contributions and donations will provide the necessary equipment for the school’s library, games department and laboratory at our alma mater. This assistance is critical for paving the path to career sustainability and excellence. A research, policy, and advocacy stance may be explored concerning topics such as social policy, educational impact strategy, technology (integrating an information society), and culture. Such organizations may be funded through personal charitable donations and government grants.
Our Notable Alumni
Our alumni play a key role representing successful role models at our alma mater. We have exclusive access to a robust national and international network of alumni who are eager and willing to meet the GBSS community and share their wisdom and advice about practicality and career beyond GBSS.

Cliff NesfieldFather of two, Brandon and Nia. Former U.S. Paratrooper and NBC specialist. Biology and Environmental science teacher.Richard NicholsonMarried to Lisa for twenty-three years. Altogether, we have seven children (one deceased 5/6/2001) and four grandkids. We are a "blended family" which includes my daughter and her two daughters from our previous relationships, and three sons together. Looking back on the journey, we, the students who entered GBSS in September, 70/71 were viewed as the children of tomorrow. The world in which we emerged into adolescence is quite similar to that of today: tumultuous. Assassinations of leaders and political discord were rampant. I recall attending many demonstrations in Grenada prior to migrating to the USA in 1973. For this reason, crowds still terrify me. Education/work September 1963 - June 1964 Anglican School, Seauters September 1964 - May 1968 St. Giles Anglican School, Mt. Carmel, St. Andrews September 1969 - June 1971 St. Dominic's R.C. I was enrolled at GBSS for a very short space in my academic career. During my eighteen-month tenure, my father was deceased (1969) and my mother, and later older siblings migrated to America. I stayed for a brief period with my cousins, The Laynes, in Richmond Hill. My mind was on my impending departure and not much on education, hence I was nicknamed The Detention King for the permanent seat I occupied in the detention room (I recall having a front-row seat to the mirror incident, and I can still hear Mr. Forbert's voice as he moaned his infamous "apples' comment (lol). Having been exposed to the friends of my older siblings who were alumni of either GBSS or AHS, excellence was evident based on how everyone took their academic studies seriously working diligently to earn O Levels and A levels. Furthermore, residing in the Lane household, I learned a lot from the discipline and dedication to excellence by athletic Lane twins Roy and Raymond. Upon reflection, I think what we have had in Grenada (don't know if it still exists with our "rude boy" culture) was a culture dedicated rising above mediocrity, which is evident by the many successes of the alumni of the four schools which occupy St. Georges. I'm sure the students at SAAS and McDonald College have had similar experiences. I cannot remember which house I was a member of at GBSS (Archer? McGuire?), and I'm somewhat jealous of the bonds which you all have forged after five-plus years as students at GBSS where you grew into adolescence and manhood. I'm thrilled to have been a part of the experience and also to be welcomed back into the brotherhood.Raymond NurseDr. Raymond Nurse is an Exploration Geologist, Geochemist, Geothermal Energy Expert, Renewable Energy, and Climate Change policy maker as well as an Educator, Philantropist, and Panafricanist.
