MENTORSHIP

What Is It?

GBSS old Boys and Girls collaborate to enforce a program that develops relationships, connecting GBSS – Grenada Boys Secondary School students with alumni mentors. They help students navigate their career paths by passing along what they have learned in life within a specific field. The professional relationship established between the more senior individual (mentor) and the junior student (mentee) is nourished through this program.

What Benefits Does It Provide?

The nurturing benefits provided by the mentorship program bridges the gap between the GBSS alumni and GBSS students and improve personal care and development. Thus, allowing students to take ownership of their future careers. This project’s long-term goal is to enable our graduates to get in touch with the polished personas whose experience, knowledge, and guidance pave the pathway for our future like-minded GBSS students to become successful. We aim to strengthen networking, improve communication, and build confidence for current students to succeed at GBSS and beyond, primarilly when starting a new job or gaining seniority within a new company.

A mentor benefits because they can enrich the future generation by leading students in an area they care to improve based on their expertise. They ensure passing along best practices. Meanwhile, the mentee benefits by being ready to take the next steps in their career, such as receiving the extra help necessary to advance. We welcome Alumni across the globe to be a part of the GBSS Alumni mentorship program.

We do not expect internships or jobs, what we need is guidance and answers to our mentees’ curious minds.
